Syracuse’s stunning come from behind victory over UConn last Saturday gave Orange fans plenty to celebrate. During the season opener at the JMA Wireless Dome, which was also Syracuse’s annual Military Appreciation Game sponsored by Broadview, the Orange defeated the Huskies 27-0 in overtime.

In honor of the active duty and military veterans being celebrated during the game, Broadview Federal Credit Union CEO Michael Castellana pledged to donate $250 per Syracuse point to local nonprofit organizations who support veterans. Castellana also committed an additional $2,500 for a Syracuse victory.

Cuse’s late game rally and overtime heroics generated $9,250 for Feed Our Vets and Clear Path for Veterans. The team’s 27 points earned $6,750 plus an additional $2,500 for the win. Evenly splitting the money, that means each nonprofit will receive $4,625 from Broadview.

By supporting Feed Our Vets and Clear Path for Veterans, Broadview is helping active duty military and veterans receive the supports they need to lead safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives. These nonprofits provide access to food, healthcare, education, counseling, and other valuable resources.

Broadview maintains a deep commitment to supporting veterans in Syracuse and across New York state. Along with providing necessary funding and support to nonprofits who help veterans and their families, Broadview offers special programs for active U.S. military and veterans through our “Paying It Back” Program, which provides rate reductions and discounts on auto loans, home equity lines of credit.
