Broadview Responds to Capital Region Food Insecurity with “No Neighbor Hungry” Summer Campaign

  • Email

June 27, 2025

Broadview Federal Credit Union has relaunched its “No Neighbor Hungry” campaign in response to a growing food crisis affecting communities across upstate New York. In partnership with News10 ABC and a coalition of local nonprofit organizations, the campaign aims to raise awareness, mobilize community support, and deliver critical funding and food to local pantries.

Why Now? Our region is facing a perfect storm in the emergency food system, and our pantry partners are sounding the alarm. They report:

  • A decrease in USDA-provided food (free food supplies)
  • A drop in food rescue inventory
  • A 45% increase in the cost of purchasing food for pantry shelves
  • A dramatic increase in the number of families and individuals seeking help

With school out for summer, children who rely on breakfast and lunch programs are now at even greater risk of going without meals. The need is urgent, so Broadview and News10 ABC are taking action.

Broadview is proud to lead this initiative and has pledged to match the first $200,000 raised by the community. All proceeds will go directly to more than 15 local food pantries in the Capital Region.
