Broadview Announces Karen Rogers and Rikki Allert as Why I Care Award Recipients

Broadview is proud to announce Karen Rogers and Rikki Allert as the latest recipients of the Why I Care Award. This award honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to community service and have inspired others through their volunteerism and leadership.  

Nominated by her fellow Why I Care winner Rikki, Karen Rogers has dedicated decades to serving communities in both Rensselaer and Herkimer counties through organizations such as St. Mary's Church, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross and over 40 others. Throughout her many years of community service, including during her 18 years as the only female owner of a Ground Round franchise in the region, she has continually found new ways to expand her charitable efforts and community involvement. In 1976, Karen was honored as Citizen of the Year by Herkimer County for her long-standing community service and was serving as Chairman of the Cavalcade of Music, which featured 35 bands as part of the nation's Bicentennial celebration.  

For Schodack Branch Manager Rikki Allert, giving back is about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Whether she's supporting local families, organizing fundraisers, or inspiring her Broadview team to get involved, Rikki leads with compassion and a commitment to service. She volunteers with and supports numerous organizations, including the National Kidney Foundation, Real Kids Wear Pink, Street Soldiers, Things of My Very Own, Donate Life, Operation Adopt a Soldier, and more.
